Dr Jason Pallant is a Senior Lecturer of Marketing at Swinburne University of Technology, as well as a senior member of the Customer Experience and Insight (CXI) Research Group. In those roles he sits in a nexus between academic research and applied commercial work. His speciality is consumer behaviour in retail, with a particular focus on how consumers engage with emerging technologies and channels.
He has published academic research in leading peer-reviewed academic journals on topics ranging including omnichannel retail, augmented reality and AI, as well as the paradox between personalisation and data privacy. He is also passionate about making research more accessible for retailers and the general public, and actively shares insights by writing a fortnightly feature in Inside Retail, and through regular media appearances.
His teaching focuses on how marketers can effectively make use of data to gain rich insights and empower marketing strategies.
